Doom Anthology
While Doom: The Dark Ages is the third game in the new Doom reboot trilogy that started with Doom 2016 and followed by Doom Eternal in 2020, The Dark Ages is a prequel that takes place before the events of Doom 2016, which canonically places it in the middle of the main Doom series timeline. Yes, Doom has lore, and The Dark Ages seems to be expanding the universe quite a bit. If you’re looking to catch up on the full series before The Dark Ages launches in May, you’re in luck–not only are the classic games in the series still great to play, you can pick up the full collection of games with the Doom Anthology. This collection includes Doom, Doom 2, Doom 64, Doom 3, Doom 2016, and Doom Eternal Deluxe Edition. You also get a steelbook case and a mini replica of the series’ iconic BFG weapon.
The collection is available on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PC, and normally costs $80, but each version is discounted at various retailers. You can grab the PlayStation and Switch versions for $55 at the Amazon-owned retailer Woot. Meanwhile, Amazon has the PC version for $50.43, the Xbox version for $77, the PlayStation version for $63.54, and the Switch version for $56.21.
