@jojobar the level design, control, and mechanics just aren’t that great, which is highlighted by the re-releases. I’d say it’s upper-mid tier. It’s no super mario world, but it’s also better than a lot of the mid tier platformers of the day. Like, it’s maybe a little above an earthworm Jim level game. Graphics, music, vibes, all great and took it to the next level in 1995 with Nintendo’s marketing. But it’s far from a nintendo Japan tier platformer.
